I purchased my first Samoyed in 1983 and named her CH.Tara’s Shinning Star Of Sammy’s. Tara, was my first champion and at 15 months old my first special. Her sire was, CH. Sulu’s Casey’s Super Star. Tara produced several champions for me. She was such a sweet loving and giving dog and we miss her dearly. My lines consisted mostly of SULU back then.
In 1990 I purchased a male puppy and named him CH.Pooh Bah’s SnoKrest Kaito Bear (KAITO), and in 1991 a female puppy I named CH.Pooh Bah’s SnoKrest Starlit (SHANA). These two became the foundation and part of what my kennel is today. My good friend Jack Jermyn, convinced me that I had to breed Kaito and Shana, and keep a puppy, and I did. They produced a top winning female in the Northeast and her name was, CH.SnoKrest’s Sparkling Sherry.
Sherry, entered the ring at 6 months old to the day and went on to take the breed over several very nice top winning champion males, one in particular whom we later bred her to and his name was B.I.S.S.CH.Winterfrost’s Gyrfalcon. She received her championship a month later taking the breed from the puppy class at every show, and went on to be a multiple Best of Breed and Group Placing winner.
Sherry, was the dam of National Specialty winner: CH.SnoKrest’s Gyr’d By Winterfrost: owner: Kathleen Winslow Farlow, and a Multiple Group Placing winner, Westminster Award of Merit and all Breed Best Veteran in Show Winner :Am.Can.CH.SnoKrest’s Gyr’d To Perfection, owned by Donna Glickman & Elizabeth Oneppo, and a National Specialty Award of Merit and multiple Group Placing: CH.SnoKrest’s Seasand Spark’l Gyr’l; owned by David Harsch, and a Award of Merit winner; CH.SnoKrest’s Challenger O’Khazri:owner: Nancy Gagnon.
They say you get that once in a life time great show dog ,and I did. My heart will forever ache for Sherry, and I will never forget her. Sherry is gone from my life now, but my love for her and her memory will live on in my heart and mind for ever.
